[SOLUTION] Konica Minolta bizhub C353 SMB networking

I have an office that has a Konica Minolta bizhub C353 copier that they have used for scanning. At the initial installation, the company that sold the copier entered IP addresses of the computers to direct the scanned documents, which has the bad user experience in which users must login to the copier to edit their IP address as it changes. I called them in last year to figure out how to get SMB networking working so that the user never has to change their information in the copier. They failed, but I finally did figure it out with the help of a PDF I found on a UK website that is now gone.

The solution is to put the computer’s name in capital letters. It doesn’t make sense, but it works. Here is a screenshot of what worked:

<img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1081" title="konica" src="https://i0.wp.com/69 how to lose weight fast for women.6.215.248/wp-content/uploads/konica.jpg?resize=300%2C195″ alt=”” srcset=”https://i0.wp.com/www.brianmorristech.com/wp-content/uploads/konica.jpg?resize=300%2C195 300w, https://i1.wp.com/www.brianmorristech.com/wp-content/uploads/konica.jpg?resize=1024%2C667 1024w, https://i0.wp.com/www.brianmorristech.com/wp-content/uploads/konica.jpg?w=1118 1118w” sizes=”(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px” data-recalc-dims=”1″ />

The path for another computer to access the scans folder is \\front\scans and I have it in the Public Documents folder, which will share will anyone.

Please note, this is not the full instructions, but for IT professionals.

If this works on another model, please put the model number in the comments below.

    Thank you for your insight!

    We’ve had this weird issue in the office for about a year. We even had Konica Minolta technicians over to try and solve this issue without any success.

    Appears its just a simple matter of entering the SMB host names a ‘la 1998 style.

    Thank you very much!

    Best Regards from Sweden
