Letter from Maddox Wright about free airline tickets

Here’s another Leading Incentive Agency!  (See other posts here.) Please comment if you received one. Scan it and send it to me if you can.

It tells you that you have qualified for an award of 2 roundtrip airline tickets.  It looks like it was actually signed by Kimberly Post, the Vice President of the Travel Awards Division.

The www.maddoxwright.com website exists. Here’s the whois info: http://www.whois.net/whois/maddoxwright.com — registered August 12, 2010.

They hand write the address on the envelope and use a real stamp.

I have found the answers to this mystery thanks to the great work of the folks at BBB in Tucson, AZ:

I am the proud recipient of a replica of this letter with the name of Madden Hall. See my earlier blog post about that letter.

I just received one of these too. I actually work in Direct Mail so I knew it was a .. because I hadn’t entered any contest that offered free trips. And I always research someone who makes the first contact.

  2. Arthur Courtney says:

Thanks for all the hard work. This will prevent us from makeing a long trip and a colstly mistake to attend this meeting.

  3. Beverly says:

Thank you Brian for your research and time commitment to this Yep, got mine yesterday from VP Kimberly Post at maddox Wright

  4. jason says:

yep…got mine today dated september 27,2010 from kimberly post. what a waste of my time even opening the letter! thanks for the heads-up.

  5. Bud says:

Received the same letter posted dated 9/27, old enough, been around long enough, to see it for what it was. Thanks for your work confirming what I suspected.

  6. Shawn says:

I receivied one on the 29th of Sep. Finally got around to see their cheesy video what a @&@&? joke. Come on now i could make up a better ..than that. Hope this helps anyonelse out too.

  7. George says:

I received one oct 4th 2010. It’s very sad to say it a bogas way to fool hard working people, with his Lie of a Free trip. I made my call and set an appointment for sunday.Shame, on them making me go out of my way and waste my time and hard earned money. I’m glad to take a look at this blog,Thank you.You all saved me a trip. Time with my family was saved!
Sundays is family Time. Not Maddox Wright time!

  8. Mike says:

Thank you for posting this info. It looked fishy to begin with and now I’m convinced. That Kimberly sure is a busy gal!

  9. Eric says:

Imagine that… Kimberly Post sent me the same letter, too! I can’t imagine the time it takes to hand write all these envelopes. I’d imagine this is one of those ‘work from home’ jobs they contract out or something. hehehe.

Thanks for fighting the good fight Brian.

  10. Joe says:

Appreciate people taking the time to inform the public of letters and situations like this that come about. I got my letter today, about 5 minutes ago from MADDOX WRIGHT, signed by V.P. Kimberly Post here in TN. Thanks again for the information and continue to notify your family and friends as well as the general public.

  11. Dana Nutter says:

Just got the same letter. My natural cynicism tells me it’s a scam. Something for nothing just doesn’t exist. It also doesn’t say they are giving me a plane ticket, only that I “qualify” for one. They probably only give this prize out to one person out of thousands. It told me to reply by Oct. 6th. Oops I guess I opened it a day too late? Like if I called in they would know the difference.

I think we should all call the toll-free number and mess with “Kimberly”.

  12. David says:

Got the Same thing today from Morgan Stanfield. Hard to believe, glad I found all you guys and your stories. It’s in the trash now.

  13. Roger says:

Although mine is not specifically from Maddox Wright, I received this letter today (reside in the Nashville area) from ‘Morgan Stanfield’ and hand signed by a Renee Joy. Says “Please call me today at 1-866-963-7236”. They haven’t even bothered to change the wording on their invitation.

Sorry they are going after you Mr. Morris and trying to damage your business and your good name. Isn’t there an internet fraud division who can put a stop to these criminals? I hope that you have legal recourse for what they have done to you. You are like a consumer advocate for us and we thank you very much.

  14. Vicki Pryor says:

Haha, I recieved one of these today. Ive always heard never to trust a man with two last names….

  15. Michelle says:

Yep. Got one today too in TN from Morgan Stanfield “signed” by Renee Joy. Thought it was a scam or a bill collector getting creative to see if I would respond since I ignore all numbers that are not friends, family, or local. I would never fly so they can keep their supposed tickets and kiss my butt! It took many many searched using numerous variations of terms but I found this link. Thanks!

  16. Brooke says:

I received mine this past Saturday in Nashville. Mine was signed by Renee Joy and I was given a deadline of October 13th to respond.

  17. Yuri says:

I have got such a letter today, in Knoxville. Is this thing specific to TN? Lots of people from TN are reporting it here.
The letter was from Anderson Pratt, signed by Tina Rose, hand written address on the envelope. The phone number I am supposed to call is 1-866-963-7256. It is one digit different from a phone number mentioned above for Morgan Stanfield.

I actually called the number. It really is something called Anderson Pratt. After playing little muzak it connected me to a live person named Nancy (or so she said), at which point I hung up.

    What the eff is this?

  18. Jim says:

I received the Anderson Pratt letter today (15oct2010) and reported it to the BBB. Mine is the same and signed by T. Rose, like others.

  19. Bill says:

Got one today in Nashville, TN from Anderson Pratt with the same verbiage listed above signed by Tina Rose. Hand addressed with a stamp. Thanks for this link.

  20. Pat says:

Just received one yesterday in Nashville from Anderson Pratt, signed by “T Rose.” Must respond no later than October 20. Thanks for the warning.

  21. Kristen says:

I received the same letter from Tina Rose, Vice President, Trvel Awards Division of Anderson Pratt. It is dated October 11, 2010.

I started googling as common sense was telling me it was a ..!

  22. Niki says:

My husband received one today, dated 10/11/10 from Anderson Pratt, signed by Tena Rose. We live in the Nashville area and haven’t signed up for anything either & have only been at our current address a few months. The effort these people spend in doing this could be put to better use & who knows, they might actually make more while making it honestly. I appreciate having found this page & being able to confirm what I already thought.

  23. Angela says:

Guess it’s spreading North….I got one in the mail today signed by T Rose…was weary read this and am glad I didnt waste more time by calling in!

  24. Edward says:

Tina Rose from Anderson Pratt must think I’m pretty stupid. Letter dated 10/11/2010. They even took the time to “hand write” my address on the envelope.

  25. csm says:

Thanks for this blog. Received the same letter in the Detroit area. It has an “Anderson Pratt” letter head. Searches online didn’t reveal much on the company; I guess they are changing the company’s name to keep it going. FYI – it is signed by Tina Rose also. It was dated October 11, 2010.

  26. Nancy says:

Ditto to the above; my letter arrived from Tina Rose and I’m in Nashville. Someone sure has a lot of money to waste on this garbage.

  27. Rick says:

Appears they just keep switching the company and VP of Travel Awards name but it is all the same tactic. I got mine today in Nashville, TN from “Anderson Pratt” hand-signed by “Tina Rose”, with hand-written address and actual stamp as others have noted. They do go out of their way to make it seem legit. Companies like this must hate the internet!

  28. Curtis says:

I live in TN. Received the same letter described above from Anderson Pratt by Tina Rose Vice President of Travel Awards Division. Tina Rose signed the letter and my envelope was hand written the same as Edwards.

  29. Anjali says:

Live in Tennessee, got one of these today from Anderson Pratt, signed by “Tina Rose, Vice president, Travel Awards Division” (dated Oct. 11, 2010 – I guess “Tina” was pretty busy that day…). Since I wasn’t born in the cabbage patch yesterday, and never entered any contests, I was suspicious and did an on-line search. Thanks for your site and keepin’ it real! I will report them to the BBB in Arizona (Tucson, but maybe Phoenix, too, since letter was mailed from Phoenix). I suggest everyone do the same. Actually, I think we all should start a class action lawsuit and make them pay us all the $1,400, what do you think? 😉

  30. Lenny says:

I received the same letter from Anderson Pratt today. This prompted me to use the internet to investigate. My home burned down on May 17, and this letter was sent to a temporary address that I used for a month. I think we need more regulation of these companies not less.

  31. Gayle says:

I recieved my letter from Burton Malone signed by Rachel Tate – Vice President Travel Awards Division. I looked at the website and could tell it wasn’t a true legit incentive company from working with many of them in the past! Glas to see so many others are reporting it.

  32. MRoddy says:

I’ll add to this thread. Received mine postmarked from Phoenix AZ (I’m in Ohio) from Burton Malone signed by Rachel Tate. Took some time for someone to manually sign and stamp these. Got to wonder how many actually bite to make this worth their while.

  33. Roy says:

received one today, south of Pgh. Pa. from Burton Malone signed by Rachel Tate, VP Travel Awards Division. Appartently they do not remember their address either. Some innocent person will bite and get hurt..

  34. Gerry says:

I received my letter a few days ago and it was mailed from Phoenix and signed by Rachel Tate with a phone number 866-951-8035. After seeing all these comments I’m not calling I think Anjali is right a class action lawsuit may appropriate here to stop these poeple.
